The design process for a project usually begins with one or more face-to-face meetings with the owner / client to discuss and / or determine the following: A clear scope of design intent, often referred to as a
"program" which typically involves a thorough investigation and
understanding of the living patterns and habits of the occupants of the home--both present &
future. The generation of a program is necessary to establish design
parameters for how the home will meet all of the homeowner's expectations
regarding form (size, layout, environment, materials, aesthetics, etc...)
and how the home will meet all of the functions required by not only those
inhabiting the home, but for those who may enter it as well. I will attentively LISTEN to, and am OPEN-MINDED to in regard to any and all
expectations and goals of the appearance of the new structure in terms of style,
size, function and the implications of construction on the overall building
site. |
